(4) Languages Jinan people speak Chinese-Jinan Dialect. Jinan
Dialect is a northern dialect that approximates Chinese Mandarin. It is
not easy to run into someone in the street who speaks English and there
are few signboards and road names posted in English. Therefore it's
better to be accompanied by an interpreter when you go out, or have the
name of place where you're going to written on a piece of paper. You
can go wherever you like if you know some Chinese because Jinan people
are extremely friendly and are always ready to help.
